ClaimCheck — Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 18, 2026

ClaimCheck is a Chrome extension by DeonResearch that audits whether the sources an AI deep-research report (ChatGPT or Perplexity) cites actually support each claim. It is designed so that your data stays yours.

What we collect

Nothing. ClaimCheck has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels and no advertising. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal information or browsing data.

What stays on your device

Your preferences, your API key and your Pro license state are stored locally in your browser's extension storage (synced across your own Chrome profile by Chrome itself, if you use Chrome sync). The report's claims, the fetched source text and the audit results are processed in memory and are never sent to us.

Your API key (BYO-key)

ClaimCheck uses your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key to read each cited source and judge whether it supports the claim. The key lives only on your device and is sent only to the provider you chose (OpenAI or Anthropic). It is never transmitted to DeonResearch and never to any other party.

Network requests the extension makes

Nothing else leaves your browser.

Permissions

ClaimCheck reads the page content only on the AI report pages you use (chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai), only to extract the cited claims of the report you are viewing, and only when you click the extension. Broad host access is used solely so the extension can fetch the cited source pages to read them.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the extension's changelog.
